Student Success Center

The mission statement of the Student Success Center is to provide a unified source of exemplary programs for student learning and to assist and engage students in achieving their academic and personal goals by providing support, access, and outreach.

The Student Success Center is located in C&L 103A, (under the blue clock tower).
The following services are available to all OCC students free of charge:

Individual Tutoring Appointments
Meet with a tutor on a weekly basis to assist with course contect ans study sills.

Drop-in Tutoring
Don't have an appointment?  The center has weekly schedules for most core courses.

Group Tutorials
Meet once or twice weekly based o high demand.

Skills Tutor
This online tutorial program helps students strengthen core skills and for those who need to brush up on math, reading or grammar skills.

Study Skills
Make an appointment to meet with a tutor to work on specific study skills such as time management, note taking and test taking.

Self Paced Math Courses
Several math courses are offered in a self paced format.  Study in the Math Lab where instructors are available.  Tutors, computer tutorials, and videos are also available to assist.  Start at any time during the first 70% of the semester.  Report to the Success Center to register.

Supplemental Instruction
Study Groups that integrate course content and study skills are attached to historically difficult courses.  The schedule of courses and groups may be different each semester.
